Pledges Click Here to fill out the Donor Pledge Form. Planned Gifts Supporting the mission and ministry of McKendree Village in the future is the purpose of planned gifts. Gift of Stocks and Bonds, Life Insurance, Real Estate Stocks and Bonds, if securities are highly appreciated, may be given so the donor can deduct the full fair market value as a charitable contribution and thus avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation. Life Insurance can be used to create a major gift at relatively low cost to the donor. If the McKendree Village Foundation is named owner or beneficiary of a new or existing policy, the donor receives a tax deduction. Additional premiums paid through the Foundation are tax deductible, and proceeds pass to the Foundation, free of estate tax. Real Estate may also be given at appraised value so the donor can receive a full charitable deduction and avoid capital gains taxes. Before making a gift of stocks, bonds, life insurance or real estate, please contact your tax professional. Likewise, please contact us for assistance. Due to privacy laws, we cannot find out who transferred the stock unless you notify us personally. When you notify us, we can make sure that you get proper credit and that your gift is directed to the program you wish to support. Matching Gifts Corporate matching gifts are an easy way for people to increase the impact of their personal contributions to McKendree Village. By taking advantage of a company's matching gift program, a donor can generate an additional gift that may automatically double or triple his or her own contribution. Many employers will provide a form for you to fill out and send to us with your basic donation. We will verify your gift and return the form your company, which will then issue a matching gift contribution to the Society. In-Kind Gifts Non-cash contributions such as televisions, VCRs, DVD players, large print books, artwork, and office equipment are gratefully appreciated if they can be used within the McKendree Village's mission and goals. As our storage space is limited, we must consider each donation on an individual basis. Any approved donation must be delivered to McKendree Village by the donor.
